Way back in the summer of 1989 Philip Harrison and Louise Pope teamed up to design and make furniture. Their workshop was then based in an old run-down Welsh chapel situated high up in the mountains of Mid Wales. Philip from a background of very traditional cabinet making and furniture restoration and Louise with an Art degree and a passion for wood carving. After several years of making one off pieces they decided to migrate and specialise in the making of Kitchen furniture, an area for which they always had a penchant. This was the very beginnings of Harrison and Pope

Gradually the business outgrew these most humble of beginnings and so moved inland to new pastures; the heart of Herefordshire. With an innate love of wild and rural surroundings finding a country backdrop for the new workshops was an absolute necessity.  This time an old Victorian Sawyard, nestled quietly between woodlands and open fields became home.  Armed with their original verve and gusto they set about building up a business. Craftsmen were trained to make and build cabinetry in a traditional manner, with the finest attention to detail. Finishers painstakingly worked on producing the best and most durable of surfaces. Designers took their inspiration from a blend of classic styles and English heritage, fused with the more contemporary and cleaner look so favoured today.
