The Mardy House

A house built in the 1980’s with generous proportions and an excellent layout for a spacious kitchen, complemented with a boot room just off to one side. We worked alongside a wonderfully talented interior designer who pushed us in exciting new directions with the cabinet design. The doors are made from random-width planking and, unlike our usual kitchens, have no visible framework on the front.

The island features a striking waterfall worktop, with the material cascading down the sides as well as the surface. On the seating side, a burnished copper panel introduces warmth and a touch of glamour, while the working side incorporates practical pan drawers designed to serve the Aga with ease.

It’s a wonderful layout that brings the practical and sociable sides together effortlessly, allowing each to shine in equal measure. Not forgetting the Boot Room, a welcome saviour and the first line of defence against the outside world. It also offers copious storage for cleaning materials and equipment, acting as a discreet home the washing machine and dryer.

Style Board: The cabinets are painted in Little Greene’s Adventurer, worktops are a beautiful quartz called Siberian Frost, with a burnished copper panel underneath. The aged copper handles were sourced by the customer, see how they chime perfectly with the lovely copper Quooker tap.
