The art of designing a small kitchen...

‘get these three elements right in a small kitchen and you are on to a winning design’

We design and make kitchens of any size and we love the challenge that the smaller designs bring.  It is the art of creating a layout that includes the right amount of cabinetry for purpose without compromising the layout that puts our designers to test. We know that a kitchen is a busy place and when space is tight it’s even more important to have all the essential ingredients laid out in the most practical and flowing manner.  So, a good starting point would be to think about storage, working areas and traffic flow, get these three elements right in a small kitchen and you are on to a winning design. Then you can move onto the colour schemes and all the other lovely trimmings that encompass the room. With clever design and good choices size really does not matter.

The Hay on Wye kitchen

Here is a great and classic example of our ‘little kitchen’ design.  With art and style we managed to include everything necessary into this petite space and it still doesn’t look cramped. It’s the perfect space for a busy cook, with all the essentials carefully and cleverly laid out nearby. We even included a spot to perch and socialise with a friend.
