Weavers Cottage

Steeped in fascinating history this 16th century cottage was once home to a family of weavers. Today the kitchen area occupies the old, attached barn at the back of the property which was probably the animal quarters back in the day.

Originally a kitchen of two halves, the design remit was to join the two rooms seamlessly together using the cabinetry as a visual bridge. The layout was primarily led using the original positions of Aga and sink, this meant that the rest of the cabinetry naturally fell into place from this important starting point.

The old beams, stonework and brick floors offer such a wonderfully tactile mix of textures, contrasting so well with the smooth, linear and simple elements of the cabinetry. We love this juxtaposition of the old and the new together, it just works so well.

Style Board: The cabinets are painted in one of Little Greeneā€™s softest of green hues called Kitchen Green. The crisp white worktops are a marbled quartz called Cortina and the handles are in an old pewter finish.
