Motte Farm

Set high up in the Welsh hills and with an ancient motte in the garden this fascinating property is steeped in local history.

This customer came to us with a remit to make their ‘sad kitchen happy’…. what a challenge! With a North facing aspect, and a tricky layout, there were many decisions to be made and options to consider, but after much deliberation we arrived at the perfect layout and design.

This light and fresh colour palette has lifted the atmosphere whilst the open nature of the layout has given the space a sense of elegance and style. It is wonderful to work alongside such gorgeous and original features, the flagstones and beams sit perfectly alongside our cabinetry giving the room a sense of unity and purpose.

This kitchen really does have the perfect set up, with ample storage, great prep areas and lots of room to mingle and chatter. Not forgetting the window seat area, now transformed into an adorable row of tiny cupboards, especially designed to house our customers many varieties of flour, they’re passionate about breadmaking. We just love a bit of quirkiness!

Style Board: The cabinets are painted in Little Greene’s Aquamarine and the dresser is Farrow and Ball’s Stiffkey Blue. The light and bright worktops are a quartz called Bianco Carrara. The handles are made from brushed nickel perfectly complimenting the other metalwork on the Aga and taps.
