Castle House

It’s not often we get to design a kitchen around such an amazing and imposing piece of Le Corbusier style architecture. This spectacular concrete spiral staircase pays design homage to the nearby Welsh Castle that the house overlooks. There are two of these grand features, leading you from each end of the large open spaced ground floor to the upstairs.

The customer remit was to keep the kitchen design and layout as simple and unobtrusive as possible allowing the buildings idiosyncratic features to take precedence. And look how perfectly our Shaker kitchen sits. Gently and sympathetically nestling into the architecture with grace and simplicity. The cool colours reflecting the natural light and giving a modern and clean look to the whole room.

We just love this kind of backdrop, it adds a sense of drama and excitement to the whole kitchen.

Style Board: The main kitchen is painted in Little Greene’s Clay Deep. The Island is painted in Little Greene’s Hicks Blue. The worktops are a light cream, grey veined granite called Silk.
